So, another day, another project
I would like to introduce to you "Dragon Blossom", a new GameMaker Studio game designed and sprited by Arkenova.
The game is a (you guessed it ) Sonic-sh game play with some Donkey Kong Country elements. I love the game play design so far and I hope you like it too The project is really big (10 levels/worlds) each with its own themes, monsters, items and bosses.
We have a nice amount of talent on board. I really feel good about this project ^^ I think we still have more slots to fill, so feel free to give Arkenova a note if you are interested
In the above image, you see a test of the Sonic like physics to run the loop-de-loop. A bit difficult to do in GMS, seeing that the feature doesn't exists and we had to code it. We are using a simple(sh) method of adding 2 points before and after the character to calculate the slope angle of the ground. And from that we figure out the movement direction and image rotation. Still needs a bit of tweaking, but at least the hard part has been taken care of it
